# Reference - Instruction File Polish

Step 02 now folds the old polish pass into instruction-file creation. Use this reference only if the finished instruction file is still noisy.

## Quick cleanup checklist

- Prefer bullets over long paragraphs
- Keep MUST/SHOULD/MAY only where the distinction materially helps
- Remove duplicate prose that already exists in other goat-flow files
- Keep BAD/GOOD examples when they add signal
- Keep the hot-path section under the line target without weakening real rules

## Housekeeping reminder

- Add agent-local settings to `.gitignore`
- Add `.goat-flow/**/*.md` to formatter ignore files when relevant
