Signature: ```typescript export declare function uploadString(ref: StorageReference, value: string, format?: string, metadata?: UploadMetadata): Promise; ``` ## Parameters | Parameter | Type | Description | | --- | --- | --- | | ref | [StorageReference](./storage.storagereference.md) | StorageReference where string should be uploaded. | | value | string | The string to upload. | | format | string | The format of the string to upload. | | metadata | [UploadMetadata](./storage.uploadmetadata.md) | Metadata for the string to upload. | Returns: Promise<[UploadResult](./storage.uploadresult.md)> A Promise containing an UploadResult
